I’m still reeling from the fact that it is August. AUGUST! It’s like a month of Sunday’s. Next, the light will be changing and cool breezes will caress our shoulders and we’ll be all about boleros or something to stay warm. Remember boleros? I’m still not ready for those things to come back.
My jam-packed weekend, which my Instagram account shows about half of what H and I tackled in DIY projects this weekend, started off with a few trips to the paint store and being featured on my friend Jodi’s blog, Jodifur , for her weekly feature, Shoe Friday.
Jodi is a friend that I made back in the early days of my blogging. I’m thinking 2007, but that seems like way too long. We both wrote for the DC branch of a now defunct website called, The Silicon Valley Mom blog. We met at one of the blogs local events and hit it off, spent a few BlogHer’s together back in the day and have stayed IRL friends all this time. She’s funny, honest and an awesome hostess.

Now this- Last time on Whatcha Wearing Wednesday (the new look made it even more spectacular!) we saw a lot of laid back summer style and some vacation pics that made me want to find a clear blue sea to dive into immediately. SHEWZ win at all the things. Truly. I’ve rarely encountered a pair I don’t love. Really digging the striped dress with vest look too. So casual yet put together. I want to dress just like that when I grow up!
