Styling a Velvet Blazer

The velvet blazer.  Swoon. Tailored, box-cut, boyfriend, cropped or anything in between; velvet is having a moment this F/W season.  This one I purchased from a thrift store a few years back and love to break it out each fall. The Classic Look Blazer, gray or white shirt and jeans.  Heels or booties complete the look. Ready for Work Gray ponte pants with striped turtleneck and black pumps make it work wear ready.  Throw on a statement necklace for added glamour.  Roll up the velvet blazer sleeves and throw on some moccasins for a more casual look. Work Wear Wednesday: Styling Black Pants

I have said it before and I will say it again and again.  You can never go wrong with basics.  This month I am all about them and keeping life simple and that starts with styling black pants. The 'basics rule' is never more practical and easy to follow than with work wear.  Whether you are starting out your work wardrobe, need to simplify it or freshen it up, the basics are where it is at, and no piece is more versatile than a pair of black pants.
