Rent the Runway

I've used Rent the Runway quite a few times and it has never failed me. Whether it is a gala, cocktail party or last minute request their selection and customer service has always been on point. Even when a dress or two hasn't been available to me they have reached out via phone and email to make sure I was happy and offer up items that might work for me.  When that hasn't worked they have allowed me to choose multiple dress styles and various sizes to compensate at no additional cost. When H announced his winter work party would be in a week I had to fire up my Rent the Runway account again.  I chose a basic black lace dress by Nicole Miller. It has a long sleeves, which is perfect for Janauary temps, and the nude lining underneath holds you in to create a nice line.  After a busy … [Read more...]

Cozy Post-Holiday Style

We are in that interim between Christmas and New Years.  Life slows down, we chill out with loved ones and we have a tendency to get cozy.  I know I'm totally feeling a cozy post-holiday style in this look. I picked up this sweater on a Target run. It's pale pink color and thick weave beckoned me and once I felt how soft it is I tossed it into the cart.  The OTK boots are me succumbing to a trend I was so resistant to until I tried these babies on.  Wow.  I love them.  Warm, comfy and a let's be honest, hot.  I'm SOLD. Paired with my BB Dakota Jack by Roddy leggings from Shopbop the 'Gisela' OTK boots are super fun to wear. I have rocked them with a sweater dress for an Ugly Sweater Christmas party, jeans and more leggings. I decided on these 'Gisela' OTK boots because I … [Read more...]

Black Lace and Winter White

The Mazda holiday party also known as my work party for this year was held on a gorgeous twinkly night by the water. I couldn't resist the urge to pair my black knee-high boots with a black lace bell sleeve top and my high-waisted nautical flare pants in a chic winter white. Mazda MX-5 Miata. Source: Victoria Mason Instagram. I wore this Vince black lace top last spring for a St. Patrick's day gala. Back then I wore it with a full green midi-skirt.  Here in the holiday season I knew I wanted understated chic that made me think of winter. The buttons on these nautical flare pants make me so happy.  I always feel like I need to be in some 1930s musical when I wear them. Cold temps and walking city blocks made me keep my pumps at home and opt for the warmth of my knee high … [Read more...]

2 Ways to Wear Stone Wedge Booties

I have been wanting a pair of gray wedge booties all fall.  I needed them to be gray or stone wedge booties.  I just like the way the heel feels when I'm walking better than a regular stacked or chunky heel.  Camtrade sent me a pair of their Secret Celebrity's Keyport Stone Wedge Booties and I had to share how I styled them. Maybe it is the fact that I love a good wrap dress and feel that this one needs to have its day.  Any way you look at it this classic wrap dress never goes out of style.  The wrap dress works for date night too. Wear it at work.  #workwearwednesday y'all.  A word about those nude pumps. Cozy Date Night

Once in a while the stars align and H and I get a surprise date night.  It happened last Saturday when all three girls had sleepovers and we were suddenly alone.  It was brisk and windy outside and all signs pointed to a cozy date night with some Netflix and chill. Instead we ventured out for a few drinks, a little dinner and actual conversation followed by us cramming handfuls of popcorn into your mouths as we watched 'The Girl on the Train'. I knew that my newest cozy sweater, my latest leather jacket, skinny jeans and booties were all I wanted to wear that night. Rally Ready-What I Wore

Rolls Royce Dawn: WAPA Rally 2016. Source: Victoria Mason Getting WAPA Rally ready means finding an outfit that I'm comfortable in all day and not just sitting and looking pretty. It is a day of climbing in and out of SUV's, small cars, luxury sedans and trucks. No skirts allowed.  Heels?  I don't know how some women do it. I have to plan and this pack for an overnight which means picking out a look that both feels and looks good all day long.  No heels tripping me up or getting caught running boards allowed. After thinking it over I knew I wanted flats, fitted denim and a loose top that I could layer my vegan leather jacket over the top. Fall for Pink and Yellow

Pretty in pink and yellow. Pink and yellow for fall?  Oh, indeed.   Every new season comes with a different set of color combinations. Rust and pale blue are hot right now. Fall 2016 has plenty of them to be sure, but the stand out to me this year is pink and yellow.  I'm in love with this combining of a soft, plush pink tone with a saturated yellow that brings to mind number 2 pencils.  Adding dashes of black and brown hues really makes the look stand out. What's your favorite color combo for fall?  Using this wooden flat bead necklace in black and animal print flats adds an almost tribal flair to an otherwise prim look.
