All About Orange: Fashion Trend for 2020

In 1992 I picked up an orange Ralph Lauren sweater from a Macy's clearance sale. I wore that sweater until well into the 2000s.  It was soft, warm and the color made me feel good.  It wasn't long after that I picked up a canvas windbreaker from J.Crew in the same orange hue.  The 90s had a thing for orange. It's no surprise that we are back here again.  2020 is all about orange. It's Orange and I'm in Love Here are just a few of my favorite orange picks.  Orange is a burst of color that makes you feel happy. It looks great on your tips or your toes.  Pick out an orange tote, set of shades, or beach towel to take with you to the beach or pool this summer season. Kick up your neutral stay-at-home look with some orange slides.  There are so many ways to wear orange this season … [Read more...]

Who else is excited for that?  I know that I am!  Sales are coming our way too, including a very big one next week, so before we close .out this month I wanted to share my February finds. Snakeskin I haven't fully climbed on board this spring trend yet but I'm getting real close. I have a pair of snakeskin flats that are begging for warmer weather.  This pair of snakeskin activewear pants are on top of my list. Onzie High Basic Midi Leggings Crochet Now, this trend has been popping up here and there for a while now, but this spring it is everywhere.  I tend to add one piece from a trend, like a t-shirt with crochet, that can highlight the style but not dive in.  This shirt is bold but … [Read more...]

Classic Blue as seen above will be all over the place this spring.  Pick up a shade of it from almost any nail polish company as there are sure to be boundless options to choose from.  It's also a nice addition if you plan on doing the gradient nail trend. Faux Fur Favorites

I can't explain and really what need to I have to do so? I absolutely adore faux fur.  Coats, gloves trimmed in faux fur, hats, scarves, all of it.  I can't get enough.  I'm so glad that this season is indulging me so much too. Last week I pulled out my faux fur scarf and snood.  I draped myself in the leopard coat I bought from Shopbop on sale back in July. My children were and are still mortified.  Buy some coats from the affiliate links to pay for their therapy later, would you? Then my husband surprised me with this black beauty.  As he came in from a hug and a kiss after a long day he draped it over my shoulders and I couldn't stop smiling and laughing. I wore it for a solid hour in my house. I might get one just to use as a bathrobe. I love it that much. My children don't … [Read more...]

Shopbop Sale Top Picks

I love a good sale.  Who doesn't?  Especially when the spring season is about to kick off. It may still be cold and cloudy outside but my brain and closet are gearing up for warmer weather. The Shopbop Sale (details below!) is going strong right now and here are a few of my top picks to kick off the spring season.   Rebecca Minkoff Pressed Flowers Diamond Scarf. This scarf hits up that dark floral trend for spring while also nailing the use of scarves this time of year.  Consider tying it around your wrist instead of a bracelet or wrapping it around your structured bags handle too.   Robert Rodgriguez Halter Jumpsuit is a great transition piece from spring to summer.  Wear it with mules, dress it up with strappy sandals, throw on a blazer or wear it alone.  I love … [Read more...]

Spring Jewelry Trends for 2018

Oversized Bee Ring is on trend for 2018. When it comes to jewelry trends I like to follow the old adage, "keep it simple".  You get the idea.  Jewelry trends overwhelm those who don't feel comfortable being too trendy or adding more than their everyday jewelry.  I get it.  That's why I picked three trends that are fairly classic and easy to incorporate into your most basic wardrobe staples.  And remember jewelry is for having fun and adding a bit of sparkle, shine and breaking up the norm. Hoop Earrings That's right. They are back! Asymmetrical, oversized or with a tortoiseshell finish you cannot go wrong.  The classic gold hoop in a variety of sizes never fails. Wear any hoops to dress up a simple sheet dress for a night out. Take that button down for the office and … [Read more...]

What Goes Around Comes Around: The Choker

Ah, the choker.  How I loved them.  Back in the mid-90's! Oh yeah- Pearl Choker from Prom 1994 and Winter Dance 1993.  Because what is old is new we have this latest trend that was even seen on Erin Andrews during the Super Bowl. Source: Fox Sports Each time a trend comes back around again, the choker included, it gets tweaked.  Initially, I was all, "Nope, not gonna do it." I was over it.  It wasn't one I wanted to repeated.  Then I saw these from Shopbop and capitulated. I really love it with simple necklines.  Pair it wish a straight neckline and blazer like Erin or peeking out from an open collar. Meet my new favorite chokers.  No more black ribbons, no pendants.  No crafting included.  Just pure gold.   The Choker Trend by victoriamason featuring a choker … [Read more...]

The Pajama Blouse

I'm a little bit obsessed with the Pajama Blouse right now.  As in I want one for every day of the month. There is something about the month of December that makes me want to simultaneously wrap myself in gorgeous fabrics like soft silks,jewel-encrusted rings and velvet shoes while also being so comfortable I feel like I'm wearing loungewear.  The pajama blouse can be all those things all at once. I purchased one in an emerald plaid pajama blouse from the most recent Shopbop sale and the idea of wearing it with a pair of loafers and jeans is quite perfect for a work at home day.   Intropia Silk Pajama Blouse/NYDJ Sophia Flare Ankle Jeans/Jon Josef 'Gentry' Black Smoking Loafer (simliar)/Shein Black Horse Hair Covered Saddle Bag with Chain Strap (similar)/Romwe Silver … [Read more...]
