The Perfect White Dress

Ah, summer.  You've been a whirlwind. But not so crazy that I didn't have time to find myself the perfect white dress. Meet Ali & Jay 'Kiss Me in the Candlelight', my perfect white dress. It comes in white or black. Both are fabulous.  The dress hugs me in all the right places and I can't wait to wear it for a date night or even dinner out while at the beach.  I love the tassels and the length is short but not too short for my over 40 self. Take a look at the straw bags I included that are all UNDER $50. Everyday Basics

This  week has me sending texts that make my friends say, "Reading about your day has me exhausted."  That's why I am relying on the everyday basics of my closet to get me through this week and every day this month if I'm honest. This time of year there are parties and special events and blog posts to upload with holiday looks, but what I'm really wearing on the daily is all my best and favorite basics. These closet staples are must-haves and make it possible to just grab and go every morning. I want to get as much done now while the girls are in school so that I can enjoy their time off at Christmas. Monday morning had me running all over the town.  It was warmer and the sun was shining bright. No jacket needed. Staples like a stripe shirt, black booties, and a cardigan work … [Read more...]

It’s a Wrap Dress

This wrap dress. No lie, I bought this green wrap dress years ago in a thrift store in LA with my bestie, E, and then I never wore it. Can I call it vintage Banana Republic now? Maybe it is all the Good Girls Revolt episodes I have been binge watching on Amazon. Seriously, check it out! Maybe it is the fact that I love a good wrap dress and feel that this one needs to have its day.  Any way you look at it this classic wrap dress never goes out of style.  The wrap dress works for date night too. Wear it at work.  #workwearwednesday y'all.  A word about those nude pumps. I bought them in the spring and love wearing them.  They are 'Flex' by Michael Kors and are not sky high and super comfortable.  I walked all over the city last week in them and was fine.  They also … [Read more...]

My Carry On Essentials

It's that time of year again. Holiday travel and that means my carry on essentials are at the ready.  And you know I am all about organization.  Here's what I like to pack and why. There's a lot of stuff that gets packed into my foldable (love!) Tory Burch 'Packable Ella Tote' carry on.  I like to keep smaller items in pouches so that I can grab what I need and not have to deal with a bunch of loose pieces. My wallet and a pen are necessities.  I also pack a soft pashmina style scarf to keep me warm wherever I go.  They double nicely as a blanket on planes too. Details This gold wristlet originally held my Dr. Scholls foldable flats but I don't wear them that much anymore when traveling so instead I pack all my rolled up cords.  It has pockets inside that allows me to hold up to … [Read more...]

Easy Halloween Costumes for Women

Halloween is just around the corner. As an avid pop culture geek I created two easy Halloween costumes for women straight from today's TV line up. Be glam or two-dimensional with these two ideas. You might even be able to find the items right in your own closet.     Scream Queens Halloween Costume by victoriamason featuring fall home decor Chanel #3 is my favorite character on Scream Queens.  Her deadpan stare and coordinated earmuffs never fail to make me laugh.  Billie Lourd makes the show. Rally Ready-What I Wore

Rolls Royce Dawn: WAPA Rally 2016. Source: Victoria Mason Getting WAPA Rally ready means finding an outfit that I'm comfortable in all day and not just sitting and looking pretty. It is a day of climbing in and out of SUV's, small cars, luxury sedans and trucks. No skirts allowed.  Heels?  I don't know how some women do it. I have to plan and this pack for an overnight which means picking out a look that both feels and looks good all day long.  No heels tripping me up or getting caught running boards allowed. After thinking it over I knew I wanted flats, fitted denim and a loose top that I could layer my vegan leather jacket over the top. Jewelry is tough.  I don't want things getting caught up in my lanyard or bracelets and rings getting in the way of  driving and all … [Read more...]
