A Little Wine & Design

One of the things I love about my neighborhood is that we hold a lot of events.  It can be family-oriented one month, a guys night or in the case of this past weekend a little time with friends, neighbors and new connections brought together by wine and a little bit of painting. It turned cold earlier that day with the winds whipping around making me forget the idea of running 8 miles and instead focus on being warm and comfortably cute. I brought out the cocoon sweater again and paired it with my gray denim and nude flats for new take on old favorites. The final product.  Warmer days are ahead! RIGHT?! Spring Staycation

It's not often that I get a little spring staycation of my own.  That's exactly what happened when the girls went to my parents house for a few days over spring break. Can you say hours of reading, no work, napping and eating all the tasty foods I love? So needed! It kicked off nicely with María José from Very Busy Mama and I spending the day at National Harbor to take in the sights (Oh, the waterview!), eat a fabulous lunch and have a bit of spa and me time at the Gaylord National's Relache Spa.   Two Bloggers + One Day= Total Bliss As María José is a fashion blogger too I knew I had to look good.  The weather was warm, we spent a lot of time by the water but I knew we were going to be spending a large chunk of time at the spa too. What to wear.  Easy, stylish and … [Read more...]

Who What Wear for Target

It was bound to happen.  I had circled the racks of the Who What Wear Collection for Target more than a few times. Always when the kids were in school and I could think clearly.  Then, the day I had all three girls bursting with energy I decided I needed to check it out again.  Wouldn't you know, I couldn't resist a few pieces. I wore this outfit on the first warm day we had this month and to a local blogging event.  It was the perfect balance of stylish and dressed up without being overdone. Can we talk about this clutch?  It comes in black and tan too but that oh-so-on-trend tassle and pop of cobalt blue have put it in heavy rotation with me this season.  I adore it! Plus the under $20 price tag is impossible to say no to. SHOP THE LOOK Who What Wear Bateau … [Read more...]

So Black and White

This winter has brought me some new challenges with work. All of which I welcome, unless they are weather-related, ahem. *STOP WITH THE SNOW ALREADY* With those new endeavors comes more work wear, and you know I like my minimalist black and white palette and it so black and white. As I branch out so must my clothes. The budget for these clothes just has to follow, right? Not that I want to get all Pantone'd up or anything but I need to support my habit. I wish I could say I'm as black and white as my clothing style, but that is just not the case. I had planned on wearing this fabulously thick, with pockets (LOVE), fit and flare dress I found at Kohl's a few years ago.  Then #snowzilla2016 happened.  The meeting was rescheduled for this week.  Just like that, five inches of snow and … [Read more...]

Workout Wear Wednesday: Fabletics Review

Last week it was all about 'Work Wear Wednesday' for Whatcha Wearing Wednesday.  Join me this week for the link up as it becomes another mouthful to say with 'Workout Wear Wednesday': Fabletics Review! January usually has us more fitness-minded but this year I'm motivated times FOUR.  It's a big year birthday that has me wanting my newest decade to be just as fit, if not more, than the last one.  I'm training for a 10-mile race in April. I need more strength and have to run on a very regular schedule.  That's something I haven't done in years.  I want to include more fitness fashion on the regular too. To enhance your fitness journey, you should consider hire Gym Equipment Upholstery for added comfort and durability in your workout space. Fabulous Fabletics?  I have been intrigued with … [Read more...]

Work Wear Wednesday: Styling Black Pants

I have said it before and I will say it again and again.  You can never go wrong with basics.  This month I am all about them and keeping life simple and that starts with styling black pants. The 'basics rule' is never more practical and easy to follow than with work wear.  Whether you are starting out your work wardrobe, need to simplify it or freshen it up, the basics are where it is at, and no piece is more versatile than a pair of black pants. First, find the style that is most flattering on you. It may be a pair of ankle pants or a wide-leg cut. If you are like me then it depends on the season and the mood. I like a slim cigarette style cut for all year and a wide-leg trouser cut for the colder months when I want to wear heeled boots and change things up. This week I'm … [Read more...]

Striped Shirt Worn Two Ways

Last week I talked about getting back to basics.  This week it is all about my go-to piece, the striped shirt worn two ways. I find myself grabbing this SheIn White Black Striped Loose T-shirt often.  It isn't just ridiculously cute but so comfortable to wear. It is so soft and long and it works with almost everything in my closet.  I'm in love with it.  No surprise. It's a striped shirt, after all. I love this look for days when I'm working from home and running around town with the kids.  I can add leather leggings and jeweled pumps for a date night look too. Winter Running Style

One of my goals for 2016 is to not just continue to focus on my own personal fitness but to create fashionable looks within fitness wear. I plan on testing out new fitness styles and brands and post-gym looks as well as beauty tips for looking your best after a workout.  Today's look is one of my favorite ways to create true winter running style.  Here's to a new year and even better you! Don't forget to check me out on Periscope (@VictoriaEMason)now too! I love the softness of this warm, wicking fabric shirt by Lucy.  It feels like your favorite t-shirt but keeps me warm on runs and inside.  It's cute enough for day wear as well.  The Kyodan running tights were a find at Marshall's just before Christmas.  I love how they fit with compression while being really warm.
