How to Dress Up a Flannel Shirt

On Saturday I was out to lunch with my family, when a friend and blog reader came up to me and said that she loved my 'Holiday Plaid' post but when she tried to replicate the look at home it just didn't work out. How many times has that happened to you?  You see an outfit that you absolutely adore on a blogger and even if you buy the exact same pieces it just didn't look right for you.  What happened? I spotted this casual look from A Thoughtful Place through my link up and decided to replicate it at home. I added my own spin with a darker wash denim and was happy with it.  That's not always the case. It is usually one of two things. You are not that blogger.  Your body type is different. You are taller, shorter or a hourglass where she has a totally different build.  Trust … [Read more...]

Cozy Post-Holiday Style

We are in that interim between Christmas and New Years.  Life slows down, we chill out with loved ones and we have a tendency to get cozy.  I know I'm totally feeling a cozy post-holiday style in this look. I picked up this sweater on a Target run. It's pale pink color and thick weave beckoned me and once I felt how soft it is I tossed it into the cart.  The OTK boots are me succumbing to a trend I was so resistant to until I tried these babies on.  Wow.  I love them.  Warm, comfy and a let's be honest, hot.  I'm SOLD. Paired with my BB Dakota Jack by Roddy leggings from Shopbop the 'Gisela' OTK boots are super fun to wear. I have rocked them with a sweater dress for an Ugly Sweater Christmas party, jeans and more leggings. I decided on these 'Gisela' OTK boots because I … [Read more...]

Nope.

Isn't it grand?  When I saw this 'NOPE' t-shirt from LivLuvShop I knew it had to be mine.  It just beckoned me from my Facebook feed as I sat on the beach giving no f*cks about anything.  And I wanted to keep it that way as I entered into fall. I straight up squealed when this shirt arrived. When H asked me why I was so excited I said, "It's like my own personal super hero shirt."  It is so very soft making me feel relaxed but also the whole 'Nope' vibe is me saying no to all the unnecessary things that make my days so very crazy.  I don't need it. I don't want it.  I'm over it. Can I get an Amen? Summer Vacation Floral with Style in Harmony

Hi, my name is Tamara from the fashion and beauty blog, Style in Harmony. Today I'm taking over Victoria's blog to share a summer vacation look with you all! This past week I spent a few days in New Hampshire with some family and friends. We stayed at a lake house and had a great time boating, swimming, jet skiing and playing games! It was very relaxing. My favorite trend this summer is off the shoulder tops and dresses. This beautiful floral dress is perfect for a dressed up look while vacationing! It's feminine and flirty and easy to pack, throw on and go. I bought this dress recently at a boutique shop in New York City. It's not available online, but I linked a few others I really like below! For accessories, I went with neutrals to keep the focus on the dress. I love cognac … [Read more...]

Summer Beach Dress

Packing up for a beach trip, OK any trip, means flat-laying.  Does anyone else do this or is it just me and my crazy ways? I bought this coral summer beach wedding dress earlier this summer and have yet to wear it. However, it is roll and go packing at its best and seems perfect for wearing any time while at the beach. Blue Stripes & White Denim

*Disclosure: Compensation is received through affiliate links.  All opinions are 100% my own. The rare sunny days we have had lately have made me yearn even more for light colors like blue stripes & white denim. Cooler temps prevail making long sleeves and denim are still needed daily. I love pairing it with my latest trench too. Excuse the lighting on the photo.  The rain has cast a crazy gloom over anything that no lighting can fix. #TeamCap Fashion

*Disclosure: Compensation is received through affiliate links.  All opinions are 100% my own. I know, I can hardly believe it either. Here it is May the 4th and I'm showing off looks my #TeamCap fashion based on Captain America by Marvel Comics (in theaters May 6).  Who would have thought this day would ever come? When something as good as what Marvel is doing with Captain America is happening it cannot be denied. It's just that counting-down-the-days-awesome. I couldn't stop the excitement that's been building up regarding the new Civil War movie even if I felt I was breaking bad with my first love, DC Comics. When you have to pick sides I'm obviously going to go with the one who feels the government shouldn't dictate how you use your power. #TeamCap all the … [Read more...]

Runner Style

Guys, this weekend was it. It was all about runner style and having fun.  After months of training, I did it.  My first ten mile race!  I have done half-marathons before but for some reason I felt that this one was bigger. The George Washington Parkway Classic was one I have wanted to run for years and it was everything I wanted it to be and more. I was nervous about this race. I haven't run that far in a few years.  Training in the winter can be rough and that was a majority of my time on the pavement.  When I hit four miles in training I hit a wall.  My body was too tired from every day life.  I started taking Thrive supplements (which I was totally not a believer of) and immediately noticed a difference in my abilities while running, during recovery and afterwards.  I don't think I … [Read more...]

Working For It

There comes a time before every race that I know I have to bite the bullet and actually run the full distance of the race. A practice run, really.  Even if I know I have accumulated those miles before or I've come just a mile under I still have to physically run that full distance to get my head in the right place. That up there?  Bane and me running hard on Monday. Because ready or not my 10 miles loomed large and had to be done even if it sucked up more than half of my morning. Because... Source: fitcanhappennow.com How I feel mid-run. While I wanted to wear this cute tank I picked up this winter the weather still wasn't ready for it.  Maybe spring will really be sprung from the evil clutches of Old Man Winter by this weekend as I start to taper off in my mileage. The … [Read more...]
