How to Look Great at The Gym- A Brief Guide

Even though we’ve just left summer behind us, it doesn’t mean that we should let ourselves go. Cold months ahead of us will make it easier to stay in the comfort of our homes, which, in turn, means that we’ll put on weight more easily too. This is why it’s a good idea to get a gym membership and stay in shape. When you go to the gym, you don’t have to spend an hour getting ready, but you shouldn’t look like you’ve just gotten out of bed either. Here’s a brief guide on looking stylish at the gym. Stay clean Yes, you will get all sweaty and stinky after a workout, but that doesn’t mean that you should go to the gym smelling like you’ve spent a whole day in the sun and forgot to take a shower. You shouldn’t go too far with the deodorant, perfume, and cologne either … [Read more...]

Skincando Eco-Facial

Earlier this year I announced that one of my goals was to get one facial a month.  It would allow me time to relax but also start treating my skin better in a way that shows a real difference when done repeatedly over time.  The first place I stopped was Skincando at the Emerald Door Spa to get an Eco-Facial with Sara, which was recommended by my friend, Jessica. Eco-Facial Organic Rose Steam, Triple Cleansing, Pumpkin Enzyme Peel, Ultrasonic Dermabrasion, Extractions, Massage, Treatment Mask, Serum, Miracle Cream I have never been so happy with the results of a facial in my life.  I normally only get one or two facials a year this one at the Emerald Door Spa was quite far from my home, was worth every mile in DC traffic.  I would consider going back again without question because Sara … [Read more...]

2016 Work and Life Balance

I'm not one to make resolutions when the clock strikes twelve on New Year's Eve.  No, I prefer to step back a week or so later and reassess what I'm doing, think about where I want to go and try not to freak myself out too much. What I want from 2016 and for 2016 has a lot to do with turning forty. I have to come clean and admit it.  My focus on fitness is all about facing a new decade of life stronger than the last and keeping stress low.  So easy when you are starting a new business venture with your spouse and raising a family.  It's all about finding the joy in the chaos, right?   I feel like I'm already on the right track too.  This week I … [Read more...]
