Neon Pink with White

The end of the school year can be chaotic to say the least but when you throw in some long-needed/wanted home renovation projects and a total wasting to your computer via nasty virus it becomes cataclysmic. That's right. I got one of those hideously awful and mean ransomware viruses last Friday. And no, I will not capitalize that BS because the people who hold all your files for ransom and want to get paid in BitCoin (grr...don't get me started on how I feel about BitCoin as currency) are not just thieves but deplorable sacks of skin who hide behind the dark depths of the internet and its caverns. It's sad, pathetic and I'm sure they feel the world owes them in some way. Or whatever. Go make a YouTube video and cry your fat head into your overly large pillow. … [Read more...]

Spring Trends, Packing & Mom 2.0 Summit

Months ago I mentioned that things were brewing for me and I was excited about what 2014 would bring. I'm pleased to announce that for the past month I've been blogging for my favorite blogging conference, the Mom 2.0 Summit. By far one of the best conferences I have ever attended in my blogging career, Mom 2.0 is in Atlanta this year and with it comes a fabulous Garden Party at the Estate and sponsored by Dove. While not a fashion blogging conference like LuckyFABB, Mom 2.0 attendees bring it when it comes to dressing each day. I'm so honored, pleased and just plain old excited to be writing for this fantastic event that begins this Thursday!! Here's a little bit of what I've been doing! … [Read more...]

Pink & Blush for Spring

Without even realizing I wore a whole lot of pink in the last week. The girls were gone to their grandparents for a few spring break days giving H and I our own mini-break, which we desperately needed. I couldn't remember the last time we had a cohesive conversation or just left the house at a moment's notice. When I found myself sitting on the couch reading Elle magazine drinking coffee at 11 a.m. during the middle of the week with old episodes of American Horror Story playing in the background of an otherwise silent house, I felt my whole body relax. I wore a lot of cute stuff too. I was just too busy focusing on the fun at hand to take any pictures of it. The next morning as I looked at my clothes in piles on the floor I would think, "OH! I should have photographed that!" Eh. There … [Read more...]

Back to Basics

This year I am all about going back to the basics. It is simple, classic style that never fades but can be punched up with a sprinkling of trends. By adding in a bit of today with all the traditional looks you can shop new places and discover a whole side of you and your closet that branches out into accessories and shoes too. It makes getting dressed each day a whole lot more fun! … [Read more...]

Pink & Black at the Prison Break Dash

The weather was absolutely glorious this weekend and it made for a great time with friends at the Prison Dash 5k. It was my first official run of the year and I could not have asked for nicer weather or a more fun event. I don't think there is anything quite like running by a guard tower first thing in the morning. Now that the weather is nicer I have turned my workouts outdoors. Whether it is doing my post-run stretches out on my deck or throwing on my sneakers for an early morning or pre-dinner run. The spring weather cannot be ignored. Neither can the need to wear bright colors while working out. This week was all about getting more regular workouts in and adding in new pieces to what I wear to stay in shape. … [Read more...]

Jet & Gray

sonata selfie

I love the idea of melding fashion and cars together. They are two of my favorite things. Many times when I look at a car a whole slideshow of images flash through my brain. Music mixes with colors, patterns and clothing to form a solid set of feelings towards that vehicle. The clothing can run anywhere from iconic looks to everyday style are right there playing out in my brain as I take in all the aspects of that particular automobile. I cannot be the only one who does this when they see a car or truck. How else did car show booth babes develop? When I woke up yesterday it was gray outside and I just felt like matching the day. … [Read more...]

Converse Two Ways

Let's face it. I run around a lot with my kids. I work in the wee hours of the morning and then for a few hours before they leave for school I'm in full Mom-mode. I work a few more hours and then it is back into that mode by mid-afternoon. As much as I love a life beyond flats and low-heeled shoes it just doesn't happen all that often. I love how Lindsey from The Pleated Poppy always shows off her white low-top converse kicks. I might have to finally pick up a pair for the summer which I'm determined will be more laid back fun than me asking for time to work as the kids do "busy" activities. The days of the girls being small and wanting to be around me and H are fleeting. I should soak them up with as much summer sun, long days and time by the water as much as I possibly can. So bring … [Read more...]

Casual Weekend Style

We finally had a bit of sunshine this weekend. It was glorious to be able to spend Saturday outside with friends, while the kids ran around for hours. We all just soaked up the sun. Sunday, while cooler, was still better than the snow that fell all day today. Again. I had my oldest daughter snap a few pics of this outfit because I love the lightness of this white sweatshirt and my distressed jeans. … [Read more...]

Navy Blazer Two Ways

The Navy Blazer. It is one of those timeless pieces that every woman's closet needs. This Spring I decided to add one that wasn't wintry, like my velvet thrift store find, to one that was good for all year round. In just one week I have worn my navy blazer two ways. The possibilities are endless. These looks are just the beginning. … [Read more...]
