Neon Pink with White

The end of the school year can be chaotic to say the least but when you throw in some long-needed/wanted home renovation projects and a total wasting to your computer via nasty virus it becomes cataclysmic. That's right. I got one of those hideously awful and mean ransomware viruses last Friday. And no, I will not capitalize that BS because the people who hold all your files for ransom and want to get paid in BitCoin (grr...don't get me started on how I feel about BitCoin as currency) are not just thieves but deplorable sacks of skin who hide behind the dark depths of the internet and its caverns. It's sad, pathetic and I'm sure they feel the world owes them in some way. Or whatever. Go make a YouTube video and cry your fat head into your overly large pillow. … [Read more...]

Back to Basics

This year I am all about going back to the basics. It is simple, classic style that never fades but can be punched up with a sprinkling of trends. By adding in a bit of today with all the traditional looks you can shop new places and discover a whole side of you and your closet that branches out into accessories and shoes too. It makes getting dressed each day a whole lot more fun! … [Read more...]

Converse Two Ways

Let's face it. I run around a lot with my kids. I work in the wee hours of the morning and then for a few hours before they leave for school I'm in full Mom-mode. I work a few more hours and then it is back into that mode by mid-afternoon. As much as I love a life beyond flats and low-heeled shoes it just doesn't happen all that often. I love how Lindsey from The Pleated Poppy always shows off her white low-top converse kicks. I might have to finally pick up a pair for the summer which I'm determined will be more laid back fun than me asking for time to work as the kids do "busy" activities. The days of the girls being small and wanting to be around me and H are fleeting. I should soak them up with as much summer sun, long days and time by the water as much as I possibly can. So bring … [Read more...]

Whatcha Wearing Wednesday- Checked Shirt & Jeans

I might have to talk about the weather again and I'm sorry.  I am so OVER wearing boots it is insane.  I kind of want to hurl them off my back deck right about now.  BUT- it's cold.  Like getting 7-10 inches of snow cold and I need to actually be warm versus looking like a fool, a stylish fool, wearing flats and heels with uncovered ankle bits.  Some say suffer for fashion, but as a mom of three who is very active that just doesn't work. So here we are.  Day to day style. Easy, warm and suitable to my life while still looking put together.  Plus, I got a new 'do that makes me feel like warm weather is fast on the horizon. … [Read more...]

Watcha Wearing Wednesday- Red & Black

It's that time again!  Time to show off the best of what we have worn in the past week.  For me, it was a lot of black and red combinations due to traveling.  I think the colors pop, look sophisticated and fun and all of it traveled well.  Let's take a look, shall we?  Don't forget to show us what you rocked this week by linking up too! … [Read more...]

What I Wore Wednesday

Owls are big this year in fashion and home decor. I found this fun one mixed in with a bunch of my grandmother's costume jewelery and decided it was just perfect for a casual day with the kids and working at home. … [Read more...]

Wardrobe Savings Tips for Working Moms with Style

If your primary occupation over the last few months (or years) required more bedtimes than deadlines, you're not alone. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, an estimated 5 million women classified themselves as stay-at-home moms in 2010. Yet, that figure is down from just two years earlier as more mothers return to the workforce. For any mom taking on new 9 to 5 with duties that go beyond diapers and dinner, your wardrobe will likely need a makeover. However, sprucing up your business style doesn't have to drain your kids' college funds nor limit your options.  EVEN IF you DON'T have kids but have been out of the loop when it comes to fashionable work attire or just need to save some cash while picking out new items these tips will help. … [Read more...]
