Skirts & a Graphic Tee

It's not just last week's link up that had an array of graphic tee's paired with skirts but all over the online fashion community.  Whether it is a midi-length or skater skirt the casual and decidedly feminine look of the skirts mixed with the graphic t-shirt of your choice has become a go-to spring look.  We saw it last year but it has blossomed into full bloom for 2015. Just last week during the link up we saw these variations. Sandy a la Mode A Lovely Little Wardrobe Regally Soled I'm such a fan of this look for every day and weekend looks. It works in so many occasions and can be layered easily. Dress it up with a clutch and heels, throw on a sweater, denim jacket or blazer and add flats for a more casual take. It's effortless chic with a bit of fun thrown in.  The graphic … [Read more...]

The Daily Lace

It's spring break over here in our neck of the woods and I'm not going to lie.  While I may have wanted my kids to take their own little grandparent vacation sans parents, I decided to just go with the flow.  I'll be cramming as much work as I can into the wee morning hours so I can have some actual time off with my kids during the day to enjoy what just might be our first week of real spring weather. Huzzah! I'm relying on Best of the Link Up for this Monday!  There were so many looks I loved last week from Heather's J.Crew and gingham to Jenna at Visions of Vogue with her super floral spring look that just sings sunshine.  But for me, it was Irene from the Daily Lace and her mixes of patterns that really gave me spring fever! I feel like this isn't a common thing with many … [Read more...]

A Little Love

The House Filled with Love & Rainbows by #TheAG I feel like the song lyrics, "with a little love we can work it out." have been a chant in my head for the last six months.  Mainly when it comes to our house.  We knew the road to bringing our new home back to her former glory was going to be a long one.  Five months of highs and lows of buying and fixing up a short sale (hello, mold remediation and demo!) were exciting and at times highly frustrating.  It all worked out in the end and we moved in after almost two straight 24/7 months of making repairs. We unpacked and settled in.  We hit the six week mark last Thursday, woke up and found the basement to be in ankle-deep water. And the snow? It came down. As we frantically dried documents all around our house, getting them crisp … [Read more...]

Simply Irresistible

There is just something about January that brings me back to basics. Neutral tones and all over black look stunning against a snowy backdrop especially when paired with a bright red lip or animal print. I find it soothing and simply irresistible. … [Read more...]

Best of Bow Blouse

I don't know quite what it is about a bow blouse but I just adore them.  And I think adore is a great word for them.  They can look timeless and are having a nice moment right now much like they did in the 1970's. Image from artfire.com (Jones New York 1970s pattern) I love them paired with wide-leg trousers just like someone may have worn on Charlie's Angels back in the day and I love them now.  My favorite one right now is from Target, one of the last binge purchases I made there last year. … [Read more...]

Iced Up

One of my favorite parts of hosting a weekly link up is getting to see the ways that everyone styles sometimes very ordinary staples from their closet.  I can't think of more of a wardrobe workhorse than a pair of jeans or a blue button down shirt.  Can you? OK... maybe a white button down and a pair of black heels but they are still paired with denim for a classic look. This week's Best of the Link Up goes to Erica from Pumps & Push Ups.  Her chambray and "icy" necklace make a statement.  I love the simplicity mixed with the multi-colored stones in the necklace for a look that works in a variety of situations.  It's classic and modern all at once.  A perfect balance. Stripes with Plaid

We all have those bloggers that make us squeal, shriek with joy at how amazing their photos are and outfits that they put together. When you combine that with an edge of humor and good writing it's pure pleasure. Thrift Stories does just that for me. Heather's photos are never-fail beautiful with stunning back drops mixed with high fashion style and a thrift shop budget. It's a gold mine of a blog that I love to read, not just look at each week. Sometimes I save up her posts and then binge. I know. It's a problem that is good to have. Her look last week from Country Roads is easy to achieve and something I would wear daily. Reminds me, I never dug my camel coat out of the closet this year. Source: Thrift Stories … [Read more...]

Real Mom Style

You see my "Real Mom Style" every week.  I'm fairly basic in my love of classic looks that can pull double-duty when it comes to being a work at home mom.  I have lots of inspiration in creating my looks. One place is the trio of ladies that makes up Real Mom Style and the women who link up here each week at Whatcha Wearing Wednesday.  Let's see what they are all up to, shall we?  … [Read more...]
