I'm thankful for the safe car ride down to my parents house last night and the nice barista at SBUX who made me a tasty Espresso Truffle for the road. 'Tis officially the holiday season so I will partake of that creamy, whipped drink.I'm thankful for cranberry relish, turkey with gravy and stuffed celery. I so can't wait for those tomorrow!I'm thankful for a spouse who is home and not away. For all my friends and family who are not deployed.I'm thankful for two healthy children and their two smiling faces. I Hear Nothing
You know what woke me up this morning? Myself. Then I sat there and read for almost an hour. I completed my latest MPR review in under twenty minutes. Make-up is strewn all over my bathroom counter and I don't have to pick it up in fear that little hands will commence their own smear campaign.I'm meeting a friend for lunch today that I haven't seen since she visited me in the hospital with The Comedian. I don't have to be back at any time in particular.H and I saw a movie in the middle of the day. We came home felt it was too quiet and went out for dinner. Crayons with place mats not included. So Much
If I think that we don't have enough all I have to do is look to the laundry monster to confirm that we have plenty. Even though our refrigerator might look ghetto right now with it's duct tape on the shelves (those damn freakin' shelves!!) I know it's only temporary and what matters is that there is food in that fridge. When H takes both girls to the grocery store on a Sunday morning I know that I married a wonderful man. Even though I may see days as pretty dark right now at least I can still see that there is so much for me to be grateful for each day and that is all I can really ask. Grateful
I've been nursing some weird eye allergy all week along with a wonderfully red and puffy left eye sty. Fun times indeed. I've been shuffling around the house swollen eyed as T.D. says repeatedly, "Mummy Boo Boo...Oooh" over and over and over again. Then I eat fudge. With Marshmallows.I steal my kids eczema ointment to rub on my eyes and pop another allergy pill. My skin is so dry from the 24/7 allergy pills that my skin feels like it's cracking. So I furtively use some more eczema lotion and wait for relief. Then I eat a chocolate reindeer, antlers first.I finished working on Wednesday. I've been slowly gearing up for the holidays which also means skipping the gym and general procrastination in cleaning the house and running last minute errands.
