A Little Wine & Design
One of the things I love about my neighborhood is that we hold a lot of events. It can be family-oriented one month, a guys night or in the case of this past weekend a little time with friends, neighbors and new connections brought together by wine and a little bit of painting. It turned cold earlier that day with the winds whipping around making me forget the idea of running 8 miles and instead focus on being warm and comfortably cute. Saturday Nights in the ‘Hood
When we moved into our new home a few months ago it was the dead of winter. Sure, we liked the looks of the neighborhood but what about the people who lived in all those pretty houses? We had no clue and hoped for the best. Fast forward through spring when a neighbor brought us cookies, many hours spent at the pool meeting new faces and doing something that is so rare for me- joining a committee, the neighborhood social committee (gasp! avert your introvert eyes!) and suddenly we were making friends and falling in love with a community and not just a group of houses joined together by a set of property lines. Shades of Blue
We had some beautiful weather this weekend that made everything we did feel even more special. I felt the need to bring out some denim on denim and mix and match things up. Perfect layers for the windy moments and for co-hosting with Lauren at Fizz and Frosting! And we got out to support our oldest, TD with her first ever lacrosse game. Daily Denim
I love a good pair of jeans. It doesn't matter who makes them or what the price is for them, if they fit and wear well through the day, I'm going to wear the heck out of them. Last month I was sent a pair of Lee Jeans of my choosing. I picked out the PLATINUM LABEL PERFECT FIT Stella Skinny Jean in Rinse. They are a nice addition to my fitted and straight leg collection. They sit lower on the waist than most Lee brand jeans, so the Mom jean fear is gone, and the denim is super soft. They don't sag or stretch out over the course of the day either. The Tuxedo Shirt
Friday night had me running around throwing kids into the tub, ironing tuxedo shirts and making dinner and phone calls all at once. It was more than a three ring circus but it was all for a good reason. TD was in her long-awaited talent show at her school. Her group, having picked the song last November, had spent the last few months diligently practicing their version of "What Does the Fox Say." I knew I had to get everything in order before she and I left for the school while her sisters and Dad stayed home until the show was ready to begin. Dark & Delightful Denim
Two weeks ago I wore my first pair of dark denim for the summer. I never wear denim in the summer months unless they are in shorts form. I just cannot. Then suddenly we had a few cool days and paired with a sleeveless top the denim was just right. Fast forward to September.
