How I Made My Health the #1 Priority and Everything Else Fell Into Place

Girl, you better work. That phrase played in my head on a constant loop this last year. I wasn’t talking about sitting at a desk or improving my career either.  It was all about working on my health and healing and treating it like a job.

“In health there is freedom. Health is the first of all liberties.”

Between starting with yoga, then walking, adding in light weights,  progressing to running and then moving onto HIIT workouts once I was strong enough, exercise was one of the things I have done consistently this last year to help me battle my chronic Lyme disease. Sweat. It does a body good. You know what?  I’m in the best shape of my life.  I even decided to help others to get there too.

How Did I Get Here?

Part of that motivation came from thinking of each day of the week as a theme.  ‘Transformation Tuesday’ is one.  That’s not about the before and after pics either.  It’s about the process and continuous steps that you have to take each and every day to get you to your goal.  The goal that will help make your dreams possible.  It is about remembering that fitness isn’t a destination just like life isn’t one. It is all about the journey.

The harder I worked on getting healthy the more I saw how I could apply all of these ideas and ways of thinking to other parts of my life.  It all made sense for work, parenting, my marriage.  Anything!  Working with consistency, showing up each day and putting in the time with a real desire and effort can always produce results.  It’s through the long hours, the sweat, the very real tears, some sleepless nights and frustration mixed with the joys and triumphs that make it all worthwhile.  I didn’t get healthy overnight.  I didn’t heal in a week.  I’m still healing every day.

I’m happier than I’ve been despite this being one of the hardest years of my life and not just for me but also for my family.  We are coming out stronger. I feel like I found a key that unlocks so much magic and I just want everyone to know about it.  If you want to know more about what I’m doing just comment.

I’ve also picked up some cute activewear along the way.
