Spring, a Shopbop Sale & Everything InBetween

As I look out my window today and type this the weather is raw and rainy.  We are expecting snow tonight and everyone around me is grousing on and on about how they “just can’t take one more day of winter.”  I feel you. Big time.

Spring is so often associated with rebirth. This past winter with me being sick and indoors for all of it has been decidedly one of the hardest times in my life.  It’s been dark, people, really dark.  I’ve been struggling with my treatments for the Lyme disease and all three of the co-infections. My spirits have sagged to new lows with the pain these treatments cause.  The nausea all day, every day is such a highlight.

I was just beginning to feel like I was turning a corner about two weeks ago and that I could see a light at the end of all this and BAM! I got a virus.  Not bad when you have an immune system but I don’t right now.  I was in bed for days and I’m slowly moment by moment taking my days.  The pain from my fever was worse than any labor pains I ever had. The gray, cold, and rainy weather isn’t helping my spirits to say the least.

Super motivating, right?  I know! I wore bright pink leggings today for yoga in hopes that it would buoy my spirit.

Then, I decided to shop.  Truthfully, I’ve been so uninspired.  I dress for comfort and warmth only right now.  I’m not working so funds are low.  And, I keep losing weight, which sounds ideal but I’ve become unfit.  Skinny fat is the term. I’m untoned, weak and nothing fits.

Might as well work with what I’ve got!  No more hourglass for me, at least not right now. But, if you have that figure you can totally rock these dresses hard.  I picked up these two pieces this morning with hopes of spring being just around the corner.

Monrow Harlow Dress in Black.  Feels like a t-shirt, which I know I’ll love, and makes for a versatile dress that I can wear the next three seasons again and again.

BB Dakota Callie dress in Navy has just the right amount of mixed stripes that remind me of spring.  I love the knit factor and that I can dress it up or down.  I cannot wait for this dress to arrive.

What pieces are you excited about for spring?

Are you taking advantage of the Shopbop sale going on right now? It started today!

Oh Vicky, I am so sorry that you are struggling so much with your treatments. I don’t know if this helps at all, but I know 2 other bloggers who have fought this same battle with Lyme disease. Maybe reaching out to them may boost your spirits some as well. Mary of Wind & Spindle (https://windandspindle.com/) and Catherine of Catherine Grace O (https://catherinegraceo.com/).

I am sending so much healing energy your way, my friend.

Thank you, Shelbee for your kind thoughts and blogger recommendations! I will check them out. It’s hard to find people who deal with this disease and how much of a toll it takes on your life. It’s been life-altering.

      Here’s to spring!!!
