Rent the Runway

I’ve used Rent the Runway quite a few times and it has never failed me. Whether it is a gala, cocktail party or last minute request their selection and customer service has always been on point. Even when a dress or two hasn’t been available to me they have reached out via phone and email to make sure I was happy and offer up items that might work for me.  When that hasn’t worked they have allowed me to choose multiple dress styles and various sizes to compensate at no additional cost.

When H announced his winter work party would be in a week I had to fire up my Rent the Runway account again.  I chose a basic black lace dress by Nicole Miller. It has a long sleeves, which is perfect for Janauary temps, and the nude lining underneath holds you in to create a nice line.  After a busy December I really wasn’t feeling much more festive than that.  I wore a white high-low dress by Nha Khanh last year that I adored.  I almost rented it again.

I ended wearing one item from each of my sizes.  While the size small fit in both the liner and the lace overlay I felt a little too bodacious in the small lace overlay.  I had read the online reviews and a lot of the comments mentioned that they chose the smaller nude slip lining and the larger lace overlay.  That’s exactly how it worked out for me as well.  Sure beats buying one dress or spending hours trying things on at the store!

Following through with my new way of going about things it’s all about the quick pics. Instagram shots and selfies.

so lovely in that lace! I have never tried it..although have many friends who swear by it. I weirdly LOVE buying cocktail and fancy dresess..its like my favorite kind of clothing aside from ripped jeans and tees. #totaloxymoron I know. lol.

I used to feel that way too but I love being able to wear a $500 or $2,000 dress without paying the price! It allows me to be more daring too. Except this time when I just didn’t care and neither did the event warrant it. Lol.

Thank you!! I would totally use it for a military ball. Back in the day I always had to buy one each year and by the time H got out I had half a closet full!

I love the lace dress, you look stunning in it! I’ve never tried hiring clothes – it’s a great idea if you have lots of formal events to go to and don’t want to be seen in the same thing twice.
