Did you know that over 65% of families will go on UK road trips this summer? That’s right! We can’t resist the call of the open road, beaches, lakes and forests once the weather turns warm.

Taking a road trip, big or small, takes preparation. Inspecting your vehicle is one of the most important things you need to do. If there are small chips or cracks on your windshield, you may want to schedule a windshield calibration, windshield repair or car windshield replacement before you go on a road trip.

Ruby Davis, founder of ChickDriven.com has put together a list of her five favorite road trip essentials for whenever she embarks on a road trip.

  1. A Phone Charger. One little device will help keep you safe, happy and juiced up your whole trip.  Ruby recommends the ZUS USB Car Charger as it is can charge up to two devices at 2x the speed all at once.
  2. Audio Books & Spotify Playlists are perfect if you are in control of the entertainment and in the drivers seat.  It also keeps car sickness at bay for any hard copy book loving passengers.
  3. Refresh with Facial Spray. Just like flying a road trip can totally dry out your skin. Spritz on a facial mist and feel renewed and ready for the next leg of your trip.
  4. Remember Roadside Assistance. You can’t be too careful and no matter what you pack your handy AAA card is as important as gas in the tank.  Don’t forget to pack your roadside assistance card alongside your license and registration.
  5. Dry Shampoo can turn a greasy mess into a fresh ‘do.  That can also give you a lift to keep going that last hour or two or feel ready for your destination.
