Talking with Very Busy Mama

Today I would like to introduce to María José from Very Busy Mama.  She’s an IRL friend and bilingual blogger, spokesperson and actress with a killer sense of style and humor.  To say she is authentic or real doesn’t do her justice.  Her videos are informative, funny and honest.  Once you read her you won’t be able to stop.  She’s the newest person in TMC’s interview series.
1. Your blog, Very Busy Mama, focuses on motherhood, fashion, beauty, and family all with a dose of humor.  Is there one section that you wish you could focus on more?
Videos! With videos I can show more of my personality and I truly enjoy the creative process. On the flip side, it helps with my acting as I’m starting to write a web-series.
2.  What is the hardest part for you when it comes to keeping up your blog? Is it the vlogging?  Finding time to write or attend events?
Like most women, I’m working on several things at once, including of course being a parent and wife. I have 3 clients that I manage social media for and they take priority. I’m also an actress and this year I decided to do it as more than a hobby so I am auditioning for acting work which cuts into my blog time, but it’s something I am moving into and love. I’ve pretty much nixed events — I am very selective when it comes to attending those as they take up time and getting a sitter lined up and paying ends up being a big hassle.
3. When it comes to your beauty you are never without your signature red lip.  What are your favorite products to achieve this color?
Ah so so many to choose from!
– Kevin Aucoin Bloodroses (high end)
Smashbox Infared in Matte
– Makeup Meltdown in “Mujer” – a color I custom created with makeup artist and it’s a mix of red, burgundy and a touch of pink. No one has this color! (but can be ordered http://www.meltyourmakeup.com/about/)
4. What is one piece of advice you wish someone had given you when you started blogging?
Go straight to wordpress and learn SEO. I’ve been doing this for almost 6 years (started with another blog) and it has felt like I’ve started over more than I’ve found my bearings.
5.  Fall is in full swing so tell us three of your favorite trends this season.
Burgundy anything (jeans, shoes, nail color)

Leather. Never goes out of style (jackets, pants, leggings)

Fringe. Wasn’t too keen on this one, but I love the movement it adds to your look, so a fringe bag was it for me!

BONUS:  Big scarves.
