This weekend we had our housewarming party. After weeks of working on small projects, finalizing a menu and looking for affordable portaloo costs we were set to welcome our friends and have a good time. Not a single photo was taken. I kind of can’t believe that. It will now exist in the fuzzy realm of my memory. It was a whirlwind and a totally good time.
I was so busy prepping and planning I forgot to pick out something to wear. In a last minute frenzy I threw on this black and white pairing.

I went back and forth a bit between the black and white shorts but decided the black would show any sort of party foul less than the white ones. It was a great time and our house was filled with kids whizzing by, drinks being served,friends getting to see each other after too much time has passed and so much more. I wish I could do it all again.
In the end, I was comfortable, able to run around when needed and not overheat. When in doubt go the black and white route because it will never fail you no matter what the occasion. I just wish I had gotten some pictures of the house, our friends and each other while in the mix. Don’t worry, there’s already another party in the works.

Thank you! I can no longer count the number of J.Crew chino shorts I own. I buy 3-4 pairs a summer. I love that they come in 3″, 4″, 5″ and up.
Black and white pieces make for an easy way of getting dolled up! It’s okay you forgot to take pictures – sounds like you were living in the moment. 🙂
