Life is a Cabaret

What’s a weekend in New York without a Broadway show, am I right?

A lot of fun, because I actually loathe musicals.  I love music. I really do.  However, watching shows like The Voice or American Idol is a form of torture for me.  When people start singing in movies or television shows I cringe and want to punch something.

Then, there is Cabaret.  There is Alan Cumming (I am a bit of a rabid fan when it comes to Alan Cumming.) I was heartbroken years ago when I saw Cabaret in DC and he wasn’t the Emcee.  His voice is the only one I hear in that role. When I heard him on NPR last spring talking about the revival (again!) of the show I knew I couldn’t let this chance to see him in this role, live.  Thankfully, H knew this was of utmost importance and gave it to me as a birthday gift.

My friend’s apartment looks out at the Chrysler building and that red and white one is the Empire State Building. Gorgeous!

I love the pockets on this dress!  I bought if from H&M about four years ago and now florals are back!

I paired it with a black blazer because the theater can be so chilly.

Let’s be realistic.  Those suede heels were not going to walk over 10 blocks in NYC and run around the subway.

Heels back on and on with the show!
