Black Patent & Gray

Last weekend was one of those rare times that H and I got to get away and didn’t try and cram 90 bazillion things into one weekend. We didn’t even try to have about that many conversations about all the things going on in our lives with work, the kids and just life. We actually took things slow.

We enjoyed the two hour ride in the rain, going through switchbacks in the Shenandoah area only to stand in line at Luray Caverns. I felt a bit touristy and tired at first as we stood in our second set of lines and said to H, “You are the only person in the world I want to be with today.” Even just saying it relaxed me and I was ready to be in a crowd of people inside a cave for an hour. I’m such an introvert.

Later, we checked into the Mimslyn Inn and I promptly curled into a ball and fell asleep. Honestly, it was perfect. I felt ready for our four-course meal which concluded with a ridiculously good Bourbon Bread Pudding soaked in caramel sauce. Glad I took all the pictures before dinner!

Dress by Mossimo for Target/Bracelet by Stella & Dot (old)/’Diana’ heels by SJP/lip gloss by Pur Minerals ‘Game Day’

Next time I wear that dress I’m totally pinning it in the middle!  I was pulling it shut all night.  I think I’ll swap out the SJP’s for some suede ankle booties and a blazer too.

I received a batch of Pur Minerals lip gloss sticks and a blush right before we left for the weekend.  I stuffed them in my weekend bag and used them all!  The gloss isn’t sticky, it doesn’t wear off right away and you can layer the color with a subtle shine.  ‘Game Day’ red is such a sweet shade of medium red that is flattering one everyone.  The pink ‘Berry Pretty’ is a good color for everyday.  I wore it a lot last week with the Chateau Pressed Mineral blush they sent with it. I’m wearing ‘Savvy’ in the pictures and have been ever since.  I think it will replace my Nars compact for a spell.

Looking awesome! Cracked up when I read part about pinning the dress because looking at pics I was thinking “wow Vicki that’s some cleavage!”

Ha! I do have that and normally it doesn’t bother me, but everyone at the inn was about 25-30 years older. 🙂

Thanks Janae! I bought the dress months ago and promptly forgot about it until I packed last weekend. I’m glad no one else thought it was too much. 🙂

I seriously love those shoes. I found them at Nordstrom Rack and the guy at the register said, “WHOA! These have to be a mistake!” I nabbed them before further questions.

Holly Gorgeous Vicki. That ruched LBD is meant to be worn by you. Your curves look great in it and I love the sparkly cuff you chose. That is such a hot date you and your man had. He is the lucky guy.

Always a pleasure linking up, beautiful. =) Thanks, Ada.
