Whatcha Wearing Wedensday- Sunshine & Rays

I write this on another day of school closures due to even more snow. It is safe to say that the dose of brilliant sunshine I just had was just what the doctor ordered.

Time to get away and let go of the daily grind is always needed. I love tiny trips like this so much because it is often the best time for me to let go of emails, work deadlines and let my brain just go wherever it needs to without distraction. The best ideas often come from these trips. While H was in seminars and break-out sessions I was sleeping in, running by palm trees and reading magazines that were previously in a holding pattern on my nightstand. In other words, total bliss.

I was so excited to finally wear this Old Navy dress I had purchased a few months back, when I was already dreaming of warmer weather.  Finally! No BOOTS on Whatcha Wearing Wednesday!

I paired the dress with some nude heels and a white clutch, but try as I might the picture WOULD.JUST.NOT.LOAD.  Similar items are here and here by Urban Expressions. I wore the heels every night we had to dress for dinner and used the same bag too.  I like to pack as light as possible and re-use accessories as much as possible. This really helps when you have to pack extras like gym shoes and workout wear, sun hat, cover-up and swimsuits too.   I might pack an extra shirt or dress for an emergency but that’s about it.  Here’s an example of what I wore while we were away.

Pastel & Brights for Warm Getaway

As we were leaving I had H take some quick shots of my last moments in the sun.  Good-bye daily runs outside along palm-tree laden paths, drinks by the pool and all that other good stuff.

Then, I threw on my trusty black blazer and pulled my turquoise wrap out of my bag and boarded the plane bound for home.  It was short, sweet and just what we both needed.  I’m really grateful and lucky to have had that time with H in the sun.  Upon our return five more inches of fresh snow and ice were waiting for us.   Spring better be sprung soon!

Thank you!! I was so surprised at the quality of that dress. It’s light but a nice weight to it and not full color fading cotton. It’s a must buy! So versatile.

I hope this is not a double-post…was having issues before so sorry if it is! Anyway, you look beautiful in that pink Old Navy dress- what a great find. Also love the springy white tee and jeans look. Glad you were able to get away for some time in the sun, and thanks for hosting the linkup!

Hi Victoria. I love your Old Navy Dress. Love the color and style and it fits you like a dream. Also, the outfit with the Mint Pants is so simple yet so chic and put-together.

I have forgotten to link up but I am finally back. Check out what I wore. Thanks, Ada. =)
